I told you about plans to have another great hosting package that is simply designed to totally blow you away – Okay relax; not in the literal sense but you’ll be impressed I am sure.
I got this metal box, dumped all the good bits in it and connected them with some wire and solder. It looks good but damn is it heavy. We’ve decided to call it a super hosting server. After baptizing it, it was only natural to give it a test run to see how this server uses all the bits we threw in it. It worked like a charm but we soon realised we need to add a little more lubricant so it can go in and out of the internet easier and faster.
Web server lubrication problem
The problem is, it only takes lubricants in chip form. Stumped, I decided to hire some external help so I called a friend of a friend of a contact. He was a very nice man and he soon showed up with a big smile he stretched his hand out handing me this rather tiny box. Although I thought it was a prank, I still took it. I looked at it, looked at his smiling face then looked at this big server and said thanks but in my mind I’d already concluded I’d called the wrong contact’s friend.
Tiny box in hand, I open the server’s backend to insert the tiny lubricant but this guy was so excited he offered to have a go. To be honest, I was sure of where to lubricate. He popped the tiny box open and inserted his whole hand down the server and I heard a clicking noise from the server, it had been lubricated. I took a deep breath and looked inside the dark server and could just make out where the lubricating chip had been inserted.
He then handed me another 6 tiny lubricant boxes but by this time, he was referring to them as server memory chips or RAM. With that, he had to excuse himself and requested I advise him on how well the server goes in and out of the internet after inserting all the lubricant – RAM.
Server RAM installation problem
Now I was in charge of inserting RAM in the server. I had a go and quickly realised my arm and hand is way too big to fit the tiny opening. Of course I was also scared of forcing it. So now, I am waiting for Susan whose hands are much smaller she should be able to insert her hand much more easily. I’ll be around to listed to server click on successful chip insertion.
I’ve tested the server now with the one added extra RAM chip and it’s faster than before so I imagine with the extra 6 added, it’ll run faster than I can type – not that i am that much of a fast typist.
Server reliability and performance testing
What we’re doing next before we let this beast lose.
- Installing and configuring Plesk. YES – we’re installing Plesk for this badboy not cPanel.
- Testing to ensure Plesk is working fine and it’ll be your backend admin application.
- Installing and testing all the application you’ll have access to in case you ever need to use them.
- Magic cloning this server so it can have a few identical twins for added load balancing and resilience.
- Thinking of how and when we’ll let you in to play around with this new toy.
Personally, I am a little tired so don’t feel like offering this in a way that would require me to work too hard in the setting up process. So, I am thinking of designing one hosting package and an amazing price with maybe unlimited everything. That way, I’ll only have to set it up once and you’ll also spend little time scratching your head over what package to go for.
I haven’t seen that sort of offering anywhere as yet but I am not scared of deeping my toe in something new – within reason eh!
I wouldn’t want to put it right next to the other hosting palns we have in place as I fear it may cause confusion especially since those three plans run on cPanel and this one runs on Plesk. Okay, back to cloning the server and scratching about how to offer this new killer package. Watch this space as you’ll be impressed for sure.
I know you’re wondering whether there will be a fast subscriber discount coupon at launch but to be honest, I am not sure because we’re to make the price soooo low it’s crazy. If you couple that with a coupon, it’ll be throwing away the farm but it could be fun to watch the rush to get in as they’d be limited coupons.
Please share the article with your facebook, twitter contacts, friends & friends of friends – Thanks.
I’ll be back…
